F&G Underwriting: The 5 D’s:
When screening your clients, remember the most important questions.
Doctors: Who is the last doctor they saw? Have they seen any specialists recently?
Dates: When did they last see a doctor?
Details: Why were they seeing this doctor? Any symptoms being experienced?
Diagnosis: What was the outcome of the appointment?
Drugs: Were any prescriptions written? Were the prescriptions filled or refilled? Taken or not taken?
Client Eligibility:
Use the Quantum Pre-screen Brochure to eliminate ineligible clients. To view the full brochure: ADV5108 F&G Quantum Pre-Screen Brochure
We also strongly recommend submitting details to underwriting at RiskAssessment@fglife.com.
BMI Guidelines Reference:
Before submitting an application, reference the CDC BMI guidelines to confirm client height and weight fall within acceptable ranges to help avoid preventable declines.
- Juveniles: For applicants ages 2-19 the BMI Child/Teen Percentile needs to be in healthy range.
- Adults: For applicants ages 16-50 the BMI Adult Percentile needs to be in healthy range.
Test Drive/ Demo Tool:
Agents can “Test Drive” the application process to experience both the agent and client journey in Navigator. Click the “Learn/Demo eApp” option from the left-hand navigation. Then select the F&G Quantum product you want to test drive.
Quantum Contracting Agent Error:
A red error message means the agent’s state licenses may not have been updated with F&G Contracting. F&G Contracting needs 24 hours for the licensing update to be properly reflected.
Illustrating in Navigator:
Quantum is exclusively illustrated and applied for through the Quility Navigator and Agency Rocket platforms.
Start a new case from the ‘Quote/Apply’ section by adding a new client (or selecting an existing client), then selecting ‘IUL’ as the Product Type.
Multiple Policy Households / “Duplicate Data” Option:
To easily copy data to a new application from a previous submission, at the start of the application, select “Yes” to “Copy Data from a Previous Case?”
Select which sections (Owner Information, Beneficiary Information, Parent/Guardian Information, and/or Payment Information) of the existing case to pre-fill in the new application and select “Confirm.”
Quantum Knockouts:
Reference the Pre-Screen Brochure for additional guidance.
- The coverage applied, together with existing F&G insurance, does not exceed 1 million dollars of coverage.

- The proposed insured has not been advised to have any surgery that has not yet been completed.

Simplified vs Advanced Path:
The Simplified Path is a simple allocation 100% to S&P. This illustration path is designed to help guide the user and create the illustration based on the high-level goals for policy.
The Advanced Path allows for more complex illustration inputs tailored to the case design. This illustration path is designed to allow the user to modify and design all aspects of the illustration. This path requires many additional details and a thorough understanding of how to run and illustrate IUL products.
Tip: An easy way to verify the input selections for each path is to click the carrot drop down on the Quote Results page.
Quoting Limitations:
Quantum does not allow:
Annual premium payments, Lump-sum dump-ins, 1035 exchanges, replacements.
Applying in Navigator:
After an illustration is created, select the “Apply” button to move forward with the application process.
Resuming an Old Illustration:
Move older illustrations to application in Navigator by:
- Finding the case under Quote/Apply
- Selecting the “Resume” button
Ineligibility Warning:
Recommendation at this stage is to connect with the Quility Retirement Solutions team by submitting a support ticket to Quility Advanced Markets.
| Receipt of this message after completing the Personal History/Health section indicates that one or more responses may affect the client's eligibility for the Quantum product. This determination is independent of vendor-based checks from sources such as Milliman IntelliScript. Please ensure all responses are thoroughly reviewed before submitting to underwriting. |
| This message serves as notification that one or more responses provided in the application have determined the client to be ineligible, resulting in the discontinuation of the underwriting process. This section is governed by Quantum-specific product rules and does not reflect vendor-based checks from sources such as Milliman IntelliScript. Use the ADV 5691 Quantum Field Underwriting Guidelines and ADV 5106 Quantum Pre-Screen Brochure for reference. |
Doctor Details Page:
Quantum is best-fit for relatively healthy clients with limited to no medical history to explain.
If there is any information to be explained in Underwriting, list under “Reason & Results of Last Visit” section.
Drivers License State & Verification:
Lexis Nexis will auto-populate the result of the Driver’s License detail based on identification validation. If auto-populated information is incorrect (such as DL issued state), reach out to Navigator Support to have the file unlocked for adjustment. The proposed insured and owner must have a valid SSN.
Tip: To get support assistance faster, provide a photo of the client’s valid state ID with your support request.
Juvenile Applications Info Entry:
For a Juvenile application, enter the following information to apply:

- Issue Country (Country that issued the identification) = "US"
- Issue State (State that issued the identification) = [residence or birth state]

For HIPPA authorization & application signature collection, use the parent/guardian’s email as the insured’s email.

If the application is declined due to incorrect answers to juvenile-related questions and F&G is unable to assist, the application cannot be reset. If the case is referred, what are the agent’s next steps?:
Agent should allow 48 hours for F&G underwriting to review the case. Status in Navigator is limited to Pending Underwriting or Received a Decision. Check SalesLink for underwriting updates or requirements.
Updating Illustrations after RUW OTAF Approval:
Tip: There’s little difference in performance between Standard and Preferred rate illustrations. It is recommended to quote at a Standard rate class for most cases. Your client will always receive the best rate possible through the digital underwriting process.
Save 3 days (Based on average RUW timelines for Quantum product) by avoiding the refer to underwriting process.
If a client was Referred to Underwriting and received an Other Than Applied For UW decision, it is the agent’s responsibility to run the updated illustration within their Navigator Account. Under “Quote/Apply”, find the case and select “Resume”.
Update health rating in the Health Class dropdown (if table rated, a secondary drop-down will appear). Click “Make Adjustments” to change premium/face illustration values. You don't submit the new illustration in Navigator, you can just view or download the updated illustration to send with the issue instruction to F&G email at lifecasemgmt@fglife.com.
